Mark Verburg, Assistant Director & Life Skills Coordinator, joined the staff in Fall 2002 after serving as the compliance and marketing intern for Charlotte 49ers.  While at Charlotte, he has advised volleyball, women's soccer, softball, golf, baseball, men's cross country/track and field and men's soccer.

Verburg earned his M.Ed. in Sport Management from the University of Georgia in 2001.  While at Georgia, he mentored and tutored student-athletes in the Academic Achievement Center.  He earned his B.S. in Business Administration (Management) from the University of Missouri in 1999. In addition, he is currently pursuing a M.A. in Liberal Studies from UNC Charlotte. Verburg is a native of Lee's Summit, Missouri and resides in Concord, NC with his wife Meriale, daughter Carson and yellow lab Georgia.
